ILL Manors: TEDx Lecture

1.)
Ben Drew who is more commonly known as Plan B talks about politics and those in charge to be negative. During his lecture he had mentioned how he didn't have respect for authority. Therefore, suggesting he still may not but not the extent he may have previously. We witness Plan B talking about society how they've labeled a particular set of people in society as 'Chavs' and how this is morally wrong to label people that dress a type of way and talk in a different sense. We typically label individuals like that due to the fact in the way they appear furthermore, Plan B talks on about how it's all they know because they're uneducated about the morals of society in a sense. Plan B directly targets society as a whole due to the fact we've dis classed those who live on council estates to under us. Therefore, making them feel as if they haven't got a future like us who are classed to be more privileged.

2.)
Personally I believe that the target audience specifically for the TEDx lecture is for those who are like Ben Drew, those who are classed as chavs and those who aren't. First of all those who are classed as chavs will agree with the points raised in the lecture due to the fact that they see Plan B as themselves. They see him as a voice for themselves. The other target audience is those who are seen to be privileged. Which is similar to the way that one of the characters from the movie Ill manors Ed talked about the riots. He said it was a two way target audience one for those who didn't riot and to those that did. The reason it's also targeted to those who didn't riot is because they see the hardships and they way individuals as such are neglected in society. Therefore, in this case the target audience will the the same as previously mentioned. Predominately the target audience for this music videos are those classed as chavs therefore, it's likely it's targets to them as they see Plan B as a voice for them. A voice for the unheard.

3.)
Plan B had talked about the media in the TEDx lecture. He signified how the media are the route of the problem how they don't allow us as an audience think for our selves.  For instance, the example he had given about how the media doesn't allow us to think for our selves however, allows us to stereotype people and see them as a certain group of individuals that are the same. The media classes 'Chavs' to be folk devils as they challenge the morals of society and shows a more alternative view to England as a whole compared to the way they are represented globally in the media. The reason for this is because the British media feel ashamed of chavs and the characteristics they have. In addition, it challenges the dominate representation portrayed by the media for Britain to be shown superior compared to other countries and to still have the power they had years ago.
