EBI - Talk more about audience theory/ terminology in Q4

LR - Overall I did relatively well through out the exam. I gave good detail of institutions, forms, representation and audience in the text. However, I slipped one one of the questions which was about audience. I needed to talk more about audience theory in great detail.

Q4.) Media Audiences

Through out the duration of the clip we are informed, educated and entertained in the programme. These are the three main purposes of The BBC for each programme they broadcast. We are presented with an enigma code during the duration of the clip. The enigma code presented varies in two different story lines. Firstly, we are introduced to one of the camera crew members struggling to get the 'perfect' shot of 'Antarctica famous belly flop'. The second is of when one member of the camera crew dives into 'Earth's coldest water'. As the audience we begin to think whether the crew member will make it out alive due to the fact that their is only one life line of getting in and out of the water. In addition, they have low supplies which adds a greater risk factor. By showing a behind the scene footage it informs/educates the audience. The way it educates the audience is that we witness the hardships of recording in sub zero temperatures. furthermore, this also educates us and also educates us in the aspect that the difficulties faced when filming.
